Black Satellites WAFU B U-20 Written By SparkPrimeNetwork
The Black Satellites WAFU B U-20 2026 Championship in Côte d’Ivoire has delivered plenty of early drama, headlined by a pulsating six-goal thriller between fierce rivals Ghana and Nigeria.
A Rocky Start in Yamoussoukro
Ghana’s Black Satellites kicked off their Group B campaign at the Charles Konan Banny Stadium with a hard-fought encounter against defending champions Nigeria. The Flying Eagles struck first through Olayemi Ayinla, but Ghana responded brilliantly when Mohammed Zaidan finished clinically following fine setup play from captain Kelvin Nkrumah to level the score at 1–1.
Despite a resilient effort including a second-half penalty converted confidently by skipper Kelvin Nkrumah Nigeria capitalized on crucial moments to seal a 4–2 victory.
Rallying for the Burkina Faso Clash
With the group stage heating up, head coach Maxwell Konadu’s side has quickly turned their attention toward recovery and tactical adjustments. Winger Benjamin Tsivanyo emphasized the team’s renewed focus, noting that high-tempo transitions and sharp technical execution will be vital as the Black Satellites prepare for their crucial upcoming fixture against Burkina Faso.
“We have to rally on our technical abilities, play fast, and stick to the game plan,” Tsivanyo stated ahead of the must-win match.
